12 Days of Christmas by Debbie Macomber

Title: 12 Days of Christmas
Author: Debbie Macomber

Synopsis:
Friendly and bubbly, Julia Padden likes nearly everyone, but her standoffish neighbor, Cain Maddox, presents a particular challenge. No matter how hard she’s tried to be nice, Cain rudely rebuffs her at every turn, preferring to keep to himself. But when Julia catches Cain stealing her newspaper from the lobby of their apartment building, that’s the last straw. She’s going to break through Cain’s Scrooge-like exterior the only way she knows how: by killing him with kindness.

To track her progress, Julia starts a blog called The Twelve Days of Christmas. Her first attempts to humanize Cain are far from successful. Julia brings him homemade Christmas treats and the disagreeable grinch won’t even accept them. Meanwhile, Julie’s blog becomes an online sensation, as an astonishing number of people start following her adventures. Julia continues to find ways to express kindness and, little by little, chips away at Cain’s gruff façade to reveal the caring man underneath. Unbelievably, Julia feels herself falling for Cain—and she suspects that he may be falling for her as well. But as the popularity of her blog continues to grow, Julia must decide if telling Cain the truth about having chronicled their relationship to the rest of the world is worth risking their chance at love.

JaM Review: 3 Stars

I volunteered to read an Advanced Readers Copy,  I did not receive any form of payment for this ARC.   This is review is based on only my thoughts of this book.  I received this ARC from the publisher via Net-Galley.

I really enjoy reading Debbie Macomber's Holiday books.   I usually don't start reading Holiday themed books until mid November at the earliest but I was reading a really dark book that I needed to put down and this book was released already so I dived in.

This book is one I could easily see as a Hallmark Movie some time.

I am giving this book a 3 star rating for a couple of reasons.   I felt that one of the characters could have not come off so perfect, she could have grown a little more,  I didn't connect to her as much as I would have liked.

This is the story of Julia and Cain.   Julia is working in a Macy's store but she is also writing a blog as an opportunity to get the job she applied for.  She is bubbly, happy go lucky type of girl. Way to much for me.   She loves everything about Christmas. Cain is not in the holiday spirit, He is quiet and comes off as a jerk.

I felt that Cain's character grew at a good pace, you could see the changes in him.  You get to know why he is the way he is while reading this book. I could relate to him.
